Soft-Firm’s collaboration with the Ruth Arts Foundation continues to evolve as the client grows into their space. Building on lessons from daily use, we introduce targeted interventions that add character and functionality.
An electric green flourish at the entry draws from Ruth Kohler’s autograph, serving as both a visual marker visible from the street, and a seasonal coat rack. A light weight, flexible stand supports zines, newspapers, signage, and wayfinding for public programming. A book display with integrated storage expands the foundation’s library and resource offerings for the community. Here, manta green steel is softened with different scales of with domestic cane webbing, balancing durability with warmth and craft.
